Ariel Winter: Breast reduction was for me

 

(Photo:purple prom dresses)Modern Family actress Ariel Winter decision to have a breast reduction wasn’t solely down to the comments she received.

The 17-year-old underwent the procedure earlier this year (15) and revealed the results of the surgery in August. She’d had size F breasts since she was 15 and while they garnered unwanted attention at times, that wasn’t the driving force behind her decision.

“I mainly did it for myself,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Yes, I had many comments, and it bothered me that that was kind of what I was known for. And that was kind of what people were commenting on my photos. That bothered me, but it wasn’t the main reason I did it.”

Since speaking out about her new look, Ariel has received a wave of support from her peers and fans. The star admitted to the outlet that a lot of young girls have got in touch to discuss how bad they feel about their bodies.

“There’s so much in the media [telling people] you have to look a certain way,” she added. “People feel so pressured that if they don’t look this way they’re not going to be beautiful.”

While some may have questioned her having the surgery at such a young age, Ariel has never regretted her decision and is thrilled with the results.

“I just feel so amazing with all the support I’ve received,” she smiled. “It’s been a wonderful year for me.”

Boyfriend of two years Laurent Gaudette has been by her side throughout and Ariel has also had lots of encouragement from co-star Sofía Vergara.

“She’s amazing,” she gushed. “The way she dresses is beautiful. She knows how to dress for her body and she’s just really wonderful. She gives me so many helpful tips, and before I had my reduction we talked about like, ‘Where do I get my bathing suit from?’ and, ‘What we can do.’ So she was really great and really supportive.”Read more at:yellow prom dresses
