Chrissy Teigen Can Get Her Pregnancy Glow Back With These Four Skin Tips

Paging that pregnancy glow! Chrissy Teigen was none too pleased with her especially rosy cheeks on Wednesday, April 27, nearly two weeks after giving birth to her baby girl, Luna Simone.

Lamenting the loss of her dewy pregnancy glow, Teigen, 30, shared a snap of her pink cheeks via Snapchat and wrote, “Goodbye pregnancy glow. Hi itchy red spots.”

As it turns out, she’s not the first lady to have unruly skin postpartum. According to celebrity dermatologist Dr. Dendy Engelman (a new mom herself!), the culprit is most likely rosacea, a common inflammation of facial skin. “[It’s] very common in postpartum,” Engleman tells Us Weekly. “A woman’s body goes through a lot during birth, so it is possible that the stress from birth can cause a flare-up. Hormones are another huge factor.”

Fortunately, rosacea is completely treatable with prescription drugs that are safe even for breastfeeding moms. But for an extra boost to recapture a pregnancy glow (which, if you didn’t know, is the combined product of increased blood production and pregnancy hormones), Engelman recommends these four products:

1. SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator

“The first sign of tired skin is dry skin,” the dermatologist shares. “I like the SkinMedica HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator because of its gel-like consistency. And because it has five different types of hyaluronic acid.” ($178, skinmedica.com)

2. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules

Engelman tells Us, “Ceramides are the essential lipids found in the outer layer of your skin. These capsules can restore a healthy skin-barrier function, all while supplying ingredients that your skin needs to look and feel its best.” ($76, elizabetharden.com)

3. Derm-Institute Anti-Oxidant Hydration Gel Masque

Engelman suggests you find products that can help you do double duty: “Finding time to sleep as a new mom can be difficult, so when [you do find time to snooze], give your skin as much TLC as possible. Derm-Institute Anti-Oxidant Hydration Gel Masque is hydrating … and specially formulated for overnight use.” ($110, diskincare.com)

4. Dermablend Quick-Fix Concealer

And when you need a quick fix, Engelman relies on this heavy-duty concealer. “In addition to excellent coverage, the formula is extremely blendable,” she says. “Plus, it’s water and sweatproof for up to 16 hours, which is a huge plus during warmer months.”

Mayhem after bitter sister disrupts wedding with her dress

A woman’s choice of clothing at her sister’s wedding has left the bride angry at her young sister. However, it has emerged that the story goes deeper than meets the eye.

Girl Censored

What started as a beautiful wedding day for a bride in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZuluNatal in South Africa, ended in fist fights after the brides young sister caused a scene at the wedding. The young sister, Mpume, who appeared drunk, barged into the church hall where the wedding ceremony was being conducted and started shouting obscenities.

It was then revealed that the groom, Lindo, used to date young Mpume but dumped her for the older sister, Amanda. The dumped Mpume could not stomach seeing her sister say ‘I do’ and decided to barge in just as the priest called for those who had reasons the two should not be married.

What also caught everyone’s eye was Mpume’s choice of clothing as her long prom dresses left nothing to the imagination. She kept telling Lindo that he was going to miss this. (While pointing to her private part).

The priest was forced to postpone the wedding to a later date despite Amanda’s pleading with the priest to throw out Mpume and continue with the blessing of the wedding.

All Lindo would say was ‘Eish’

Amy Schumer’s No-Pants Look Is Literally on Fire

xed in with the cheeky pinup shots and sisterly portrait in Annie Leibovitz’s cover shoot of Amy Schumer for the May 2016 issue of Vanity Fair is a photograph that’s literally incendiary: the comedian, in a T-shirt, with her otherwise uncovered crotch ablaze. The only other thing she wears is an expression of utter ease, or possibly, mild panic.

“I begged Annie to photograph me with no underwear on in just a T-shirt,” Schumer says. “I explained to her how important it was to me and she finally agreed. I felt powerful and beautiful. She understood once we shot it. Or maybe she ran to the bathroom to throw up. It was one of the most meaningful moments of my life.”

“It was very her,” says V.F. fashion and style director Jessica Diehl. She noted the “no coffee, no workee” tee was Schumer’s own: “The whole attitude, the T-shirt, the slogan on the T-shirt—it just felt very real, with everything else being so surreal.”

On the cover, Schumer keeps it red hot in a red, sequin Calvin Klein Collection bodysuit, striking a retro-calendar-girl pose and a come-hither twinkle.

“For those women in Old Hollywood who posed in that bombshell, pinup way, there’s almost a series of poses and body positioning that signify that era,” Diehl says. “Legs nicely together, feet pointed, and arm up with ample cleavage display—those are sort of the codes of the time.”

Making a sly stylistic wink at those tropes flavors the spread as a kind of send-up of the machinery involved in making a celebrity glamour shot. Inside, in another steely silver playsuit from Calvin Klein Collection, she straddles a phallic missile, posing as an actual bombshell.

That spirit of satire, Diehl says, was an effective way to encompass all the roles that Schumer plays—comedian, writer, actress, glamour girl.

“There had to be some sense of humor in the glamorizing, because [the glamorizing] is not the point of her,” she says. “The point of her is not to be a red-carpet star—she does so much more than short formal dresses up for premieres or press circuits.

“We’re not telling a fashion story—we don’t have to stick to one look throughout,” she continues. “And she’s so multifaceted that if you put her in one box, you’re really not telling enough of this whole person’s story. Her voice is very zeitgeisty, and ballsy, and feisty, that it didn’t seem she could be boxed into one concept.”
