This Classic Beauty Product Just Got A Major Makeover

The wedding dress that will NEVER be worn: Designer spends 300 hours creating an intricate bridal gown that weighs 11 stone – and is made entirely from cake

With its intricate design and stunning detail, this looks like the type of wedding long prom dresses most brides would be proud to walk down the aisle wearing.

However, this gown is one that will never be worn – as it’s made entirely out of cake, and weighs more than 11 stone.

Award-winning baker Sylvia Elbar, from Hornchurch, Essex, was part of a team who spent 300 hours putting the creation together.

The design was made using 35kg of fondant, 3kg of cake lace and 2,000 sheets of water.

And it was all glued on to the dress with 10 bottles of edible decorating liquid.

The tasty Weddible Dress, which stands 170cm tall, was fashioned by cake sculptor, Sylvia, Yvette Marner, 43, founder of Fun N Funky Cakes, and artist Ilinka Rnic, 17.

The impressive frock will be showcased at the two-day Cake International exhibition in Alexandra Palace, London which kicks off on Saturday.

The gown appears lifelike with the intricate detailing crafted from cake lace and edible metallic beads used to embellish the dress
