Lagos hosts 2016 Africa fashion week Nigeria

The 2016 African fashion week Nigeria (AFWN) kicked off at the weekend in Nigeria’s commercial city, Lagos.
The week long event commenced with first ever “Textile and Garment Manufacturing Conference on Friday at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos.

The conference was aims to boost job creation in the Nigerian fashion industry as well as redefine textile and garment production processes in Nigeria.

The first class packaged high octane event is a celebration of stupendous fashion and style of good form and refinement and includes an awards show to the bargain.
Various models walked the runway wearing Apex clothings, Vivian Bennet and many other designs during the event.
Fashion icons glamorously graced the event to celebrate Africa’s stupendous, fashion and style.
“Fashion industry in Nigeria is very serious and tough you know.There is a lot of designers showcasing different designs, different brands. different stars. The hair, the make up. The hair is so fantastic, I love it, it is Africa!” said Stephanie White, a female Cameroonian model.
“I feel lovely, I feel great of walking the Africa Fashion week 2016. It is a pleasure and I’m happy because over 5000 models for the casting and I was picked. So I’m a lucky model walking this fashion week.” said Nosa Davids, a female Nigerian model.
Fashion critic and designer,Princess Mobola at the event noted that the industry has become so elaborate providing so many things to work with.
“It is a good platform for designers to showcase what we are doing and give you the desire to do more and be more creative. When you see people who are fitting make you more proud,” she said.
