Kettlebell exercises for beginners

Try out the following beginner-friendly kettlebell moves to make your exercise routine more challenging:

GOBLET SQUAT Grab a kettlebell and hold it by the sides in front of your chest. Place your feet slightly wider than your shoulder. Keeping an upright posture, push your hips back down and lower your body till your thighs are parallel to the floor. Push back into an upright position.

KETTLEBELL DEADLIFTS Place the kettlebell between your feet on the floor, squat down and hold the handle with both hands. Tighten those glutes, keep the arm extended and rise.

KETTLEBELL SWING Hold a heavy kettlebell in both hands and maintain a squat stance. Push your hips behind, allowing the weight to swing between your legs. Keeping the torso upright and the abs tight, thrust hip forward using the momentum from the lower body to bring the weight up to hip level. Get the weight back down and repeat, taking the weight a little higher with each swing.

DOS and DON’TS

While choosing a kettlebell, always start with a weight that you are comfortable with. Begin with the basic exercises first. Also, remember, repetition is the key in this workout. Don’t eliminate warm ups just because you are short of time. Don’t try the workout before understanding the exercises and doing basic training. Instability of exercise execution may lead to significant injuries.
